Couple of snags with 2008 1.4tdi

Have a couple of nagging problems with my 2008 1.4tdi greenline Fabia and thought I'd rack the collective brains of the Briskoda massive to see if anyone has run into similar. Just had it serviced and got new glowplugs fitted, but it seems like there's no power getting to them? Engine management light is showing and mechanic says code he's getting is P3338 - glow plug control circuit 2; electrical fault.

Other problem is an alarming rattle/rumble from low down driver's side front suspension - he's checked everything he assures me, but if anything it's worse. Just before I bought it, it had a new spring fitted so it's unlikely to be that and if all the suspension is fairly tight then I'm unsure what the problem could be? I just wondered if any experienced hands could point to common causes or problems if possible. Many thanks in advance
