Is it possible to bye an after market reverse camera and install even if the car was not equipt originaly? I have vcds on hand.

Really excellent bit of kit & certainly worth the money.

 

Not sure if it's suitable for Mk3 but I'm sure if you contact them they'll advise (or maybe someone on here might).

Thx for your reply! I have seen this type and it looks like it the same for mk3. But as I understand it has to be plugd in with the AUX?? I want to plug it in to the boot and not plug in by AUX. Is this possible?

it is much easier on the MK111 as all it needs is the camera and a quick code with VCDS

I used a cheap clone one from eBay that replaces the boot release, I have gone down the wireless route but you can cable it if you feel like it.

There is a good thread on here with lots of info, but to be sure you get the correct camera take out your boot release and measure it as there seem to be different size holes on the same model of Octavia

Because mine is a MY14, I had to cut a larger hole for the camera. I think if you are MY15 then you are OK and have the right size hole.

 

Even plumbed into the rear washer pipe to keep the camera clean.

 

Thx again. Is it market on the handle or where do I check if its a 14/15? Thats a good tip to keep it clean:)

My old handle was 90mm by 33mm. The new handle is longer and wider.

Hi John, I am not able to find it on ebay?! I want the oned that are in the boot release. I found only 1 but acc to seller it only works with wire to AUX and not with VCDS:( Do you have link to the one you bught?

Do we know what versions of Columbus you can link a reverse camera to?  Mine is quite old at 2008 vintage
