Mk2 Fabia VRS Amundsen+

Featured Replies

Hello.  This is my first post here, I searched through 15 pages of ICE info before deciding to join and post.

Last week I bought a Mk2 Fabia VRS which has Amundsen+ Navigation which I thought had bluetooth, but as it turns out it doesnt, the "Phone" button mutes the radio.  I know some versions of the Amundsen in the Fabia Mk2 had bluetooth, so can someone please tell me how to "activate" it.  I mostly want to stream music through it but as its now 6 points and £200 for using your phone, that might be good to have as well.

I don't want to spend alot of money.  If I buy another Amundsen headunit with bluetooth would it be a straight swap?  Advice please?

You'll need a Bluetooth enabled Amundsen + (Plus), a microphone and wiring loom, and probably VCDS to code it all to work correctly as well. Might be cheaper and easier to just buy a Bluetooth module and loom and fit it separately, and keep your existing Amundsen +.

Yeah, i just had the look of aftermarket bluetooth systems like Parrot, they always look like an afterthought.  Been looking at the Android headunits on ebay/amazon.  They mirror the style of the Skoda Columbus system, just wondering if they are actually any good?

I meant a genuine Skoda (or VW) Bluetooth module. They integrate completely with the Amundsen and allow the touchscreen to control and show all the functions etc.

Link?

Something like this. Link.

There are others, but someone else will advise on the best one for your particular needs.

£209 lol  ouch!!!

That was the first one I found. You would spend a lot more than that on a Bluetooth enabled Amundsen I reckon, then still need a bit more on a microphone. I sold mine a few months ago for much less than that price.

Fair enough, so I would need to buy the unit from the link (or similar) plus a microphone?

The one I linked to has the wiring loom and microphone included.

This one on ebay (no bids yet) might be a better bet if it stays that cheap, and then source your own loom & microphone perhaps.

But like I said, there are other smarter people than me for Bluetooth kit recommendations. I'm not the one to advise really as there could well be a cheaper or better option.
