Read number plate light

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm due to return my car to the finance company this week and am just sorting out a few things.

one of the bulbs in my rear numverplaye is loose and keeps showing as off.

anyone tell me how I can get access to tighten the bulb

If you look at the light there is a screwdriver slot on one end of the light, place a flat bladed screwdriver into the slot and slide the whole light in the opposite direction,

the bulbs are W5W / T10 / 501 (same bulb fitting but has several different names) and they just pull out,

disconnect the wiring loom first and it is easier to change the bulb as they can be a bit tight to remove and if you use the screwdriver to pop it out then it is really easy to short out the connections and blow the fuse.

I don't like the screwdriver method as it's a bit risky - you can easily stratch the paint.

Use some plastic tool instead or just your (strong) fingers.
