Wing mirrors not folding

Featured Replies

Good morning,

i had a oem detachable towbar fitted by Skoda dealer

ive noticed that since then the wing mirror that previously turned in when holding fob no

longer do so

any suggestions or back to dealer???

You need to carry out a window one touch reset, then mirrors should be back to folding from remote.

Make sure the switch points to the LH mirror as well :)

My (2011) Superb will fold its mirrors via the keyfob (pressing and holding the lock button) with the internal knob in any position.

As mentioned earlier it is likely the towbar fitter has had reason to disconnect the battery, this often means things like the one-touch electric window operation and folding mirrors need resetting.

Sit in the car, shut all the doors, ignition on (or start the engine). Lower each window one at a time all the way down, then lift the windows by pulling (and holding) the switch in the up position. When the window shuts keep the button held up for a few seconds, it is this stage that resets the one-touch windows (and the folding mirrors).

V/late thread but thanks to this, mirrors folding again. Battery hadn't been disconnected though? Lost its memory some how?

Found this post today and it fixed my broken folding mirrors, thank you all, very helpful post.

The car was covered in thick frost this morning.
I started the engine and the mirrors moved out fine, but I somehow knocked the drivers window switch and it made a horrible clunk noise but window did move a little, but was covered in thick frost.
I didnt touch the window again and moved the car into the sun to defrost and popped back in doors.
(I was worried I had broken the window mechanism again. It broke last year when it got cold and had to replace it).
I came out 15mins later and all was melted, so I tested the drivers window and it was working fine.
It was only when I parked at the shops and tried closing the mirrors from the fob that I realised they weren't working.
I tried the manual wing mirror close switch on the inside door panel and the mirrors closed ok, they just wouldn't close on the fob.

I then found this post, did the reset and all is good in the world again.

Wing mirrors fold in from the fob again. Its the small things in life 😀
