Fabia suspension mods

Featured Replies

Hi guys:thumbup:

I'm planning on putting my nice alloys on this weekend.

The problem I've got tho is that the car over steers at the slightest sign of dampness! ( only with these wheels tho [205/45/16])

The only mods I've done to the suspension are to fit a set of Eibach springs.

Do you think a vRS A.R.B would be a good start, and a set of Polly bushes?

Or how about front upper & lower strut braces? (i think they do lower ones?)

I remember doing a lower brace a GM Saab 900, It was a PROPPER pain to do, but totally transformed the way the car felt:Yikes:

Would it have the same effect on a fabia?

Any input is gratefully received:D

My front strut brace did reduce understeer to the point I can now drift the car.

Oversteering a front wheel drive car?

Chris

oversteer as soon as its wet? do you have the same tyres on all round? what is the state of the tread on the rears compaired to the front?

seems weird unless you meant understeer? Even if I try to get oversteer the fabby doesn't seem to want to play.

Understeer for sure. The jabba rear ARB makes a difference and you can get a bit of lift-off oversteer with it, but even with that on it's only when you are going for it rather a lot...

A front Strut brace will make the front end slightly tighter and more responsive - probably the cheapest and easiest one to fit.

Do a search for SEAT strut brace for the Part number, which is avaliable from you're local SEAT dealer for about £40.

Just bare in mind the Eagle F1's you've got are good tyres, however like all tyres need sufficient time to heat up. When cold the grip characteristics are greatly reduced.

I did mean over-steer, as in, SPINNY SPINNY on a round-about:eek:

Guess I'll just have to slow down.

Suppose it could just have diesel on the road. A little bit of oil goes along way when it's raining.;)

I strongly agree. I had to emergency brake a few days ago about 2 minutes from leaving the house. Damn scary, New Eagle F1's (about 350 miles on them). Alot more twitchy than when they're warm.

Still work though. I stopped with room to spare. Pity the car behind me didn't. :thumbdwn:
