Weird indicator issue mot tomorrow (Monday)

Featured Replies

Hi all well 1st fault after 7 years so not complaining but the mot is in the morning so would be good to at least give garage an idea if anyone can help.

So I go out in car tonight and bulb warning light lit, the car had blown a number plate light Friday which I changed thought I must be jinxed but went round car all light working but noticed a fault with the indicators the wing mirror ones work fine but the front and rear ones stay lit for about 15 seconds (timed by me )  and then start to flash its the same on the stalk and the hazards.

The direction indicators on the dash seem to flash faster than they should. I have taken bulbs out and swapped for other good ones and it makes no difference.

As I said mot tomorrow at my local place rather than hand it to him blind has anybody had similar so I can point him in the right direction.

Regards Roger

That seems to have done the trick I just drove it back and forwards to turn the orange steering light off that had come on, all indicators working fine. Out of interest what does discontenting the battery reset ?

Edited by seriesdriver

It resets the central electrics module that controls the indicators
