Service Plans....

Featured Replies

My partner has just taken out a renewed service plan for 3 years on her Yaris, having had the car serviced at same franchised dealer from when she bought it at 2 years old.

Whether you agree with these policies or not, at the beginning of the month of May, the car went in for its 60k service at 48000 miles and MOT. But we forgot to take in the service book. So today, I took it in to have it updated. And there was no stamp for last year either.

The garage claims that the car wasnt serviced last year but MOT`d. Hence no stamp for 2016. We are both sure that it was serviced. We have evidence of all invoices bar last year.  She gave them a ring and the service department claims that they will not service your car unless requested despite taking your money on a direct debit.

She is now in two minds if she continues with the service plan and cancels the DD? Doing only around 4000 miles a year, probably worth having the car done at an independant.

If it's a Toyota I wouldn't worry either way.

Turns out that because the service wasnt done last year, the accumulated payments were used for this years service. The new service plan has been cancelled as isnt cost effective for the mileage that the car does.
