Hi all

I have a 2011 Fabia 1.6tdi Monte Carlo 2011 with a blown engine. Anyone know if this engine is different from a standard 1.6tdi?

Also anyone know where I can get one?

CAY is the engine code you need, CAYA/B/C will all fit.

 

how has yours failed out of curiosity?

Not too sure yet till I strip it down but it has seized solid, either bottom or pistons. She just ran away, revved like mad, loads of white/blue smoke and that was it, locked solid!!!

any thoughts?

Has turbo gone sucked in oil?

It sure has.

turbo has failed, oil seals inside it have let go and the engine has sucked oil in from the turbo and used it as diesel on full throttle.

 

the engine will need replacing though yeah. Annoying if you had of just put it in 5th gear and stalled it, it would have been fine :(

Any ideas where I can start searching for an engine?

Also when I find one will anything need programming in the cars computer? ( this is where I get a bit lost as I have no idea or equipment for car diagnostics etc!!!)

Injectors will need coded but think that will be it.

 

ebay or scrap yard is your option for an engine.

I have managed to source a bare engine with low mileage. from what you guys said earlier about the turbo seals being the probable cause of the of the engine blowing will I need a turbo? or can I get new seals for it?

Ideally you want a complete engine but they are rare at a decent price.

 

You need a new turbo and injectors from elsewhere.

Hi all

It seems you were correct when you said the injectors were probably knackered. Got a good second hand engine and a turbo. Got it all back together and the diesel knock is scary and it runs like a pig.

Any ideas or recommendations for new injectors or even a company to refurb the old ones?

Also what kit do I need to get my hands on to program the injectors to the car.

I'd just check eBay / euro car parts on price of injectors.

 

As for programming them VCDS will do that.
