Aircon diagnostic -- refrigerant low

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a octavia 2007 that the AC has stopped working on. VCDS gives the message that the refrigerant is low. I can see RPM on compressor but the readings on the pressure sensor is crazy and going all over the place. If I look at the pressure sensor It looks all wet from refrigerant. The second radiator fan is living its own life and many times going full speed even if I have econ pushed in and its winter. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty much certain that you have an air con leak somewhere: if you have automotive air con specialists in Sweden like we do in the UK then that should be your next stop.

I think and hope that too, talked to a air con specialist and he said that he has replaced alot of leaking pressure sensors on och Octavia and he thought it was the problem on my car when I told him it was all wet

A leaking pressure sensor is where my air con problems were.

The local aircon specialist stated that it was a common problem with either the switch leaking or just been faulty.

Change the switch and get it regassed.

You will probably need some crows foot spanners to get the old one off.
