Radio reception problem

Featured Replies

 my amundsen radio cannot find station when i scan on FM, was able to find dab stations while driving through Dublin.

Reckon an aerial/aerial wire problem

Took out centre dash unit and the two leads look ok , was wondering is this unit the actual radio or do i need to look somewhere else for the aerial wiring! I can only get very faint signals on manual scan for strong stations, thanks in advance for any advice.

Be a help if we knew which car you have and which Amundsen. But usually the aerial base on the roof will be at fault.

Cheers.

Sorry its a 2014 octavia elegance diesel and its an infotainment navigation amundsen unit. Thanks for info . I presume aerial is glued on roof or is it bolted through. Is it easy to remove.

Thanks again .

I don't suppose it's still under warranty is it? 3 years from new.

After that, the base should just unscrew from underneath (ease the headliner down at the back and search for the nut on the underside) and then a few Fakra plugs to unclip, and replace with a new one.

Oh, and the actual radio head unit is in the glovebox. The screen on the dash is simply a screen and input device.

The aerial is not on the roof. It's in the rear side windows on the combi and the rear window on the hatchback. The shark fin on the roof is a GPS aerial and may also contain a phone aerial. The radio aerials have a booster fitted at the rear somewhere, the fault could lie with that.

Thanks for all the help

Radio aerial lead was disconnected from back of radio unit located behind glovebox.
