Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi going in limp mode at high speed

Featured Replies

Hii I just did an diagnostic test of my Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi and the result was boost pressure too high.

I checked my all pipes no leakage problem.

So what can be the solution for it.

If it's over boosting you are not going to have a boost leak!

It could well be the vanes in the turbo sticking or a problem with the actuator.

So I shall check all the actuator, sensors and if the problem still arises then go for turbo vanes sticking problem.

Are the journeys around town with lots of stopping and starting?

Yes but the car loses power at high speed high rpm only and enters limp mode.... On highway

It is likely to be the vanes sticking I think. It should overboost and go into limp mode at about 3k revs. The vanes get stuck in the low speed, high boost position and so produce too much boost when you accelerate. When you are tootling round town you don't rev it high enough for long enough for it to do it.

@GAURANG29 - As most others, I think this is sticky vanes on a variable geometry turbo. Look in the Octavia Mk 1 forum sticky posts for the "Mr Muscle fix" but note that I have no idea what the Indian equivalent of Mr Muscle is!
