Has anyone got the factory one and if so, how do you fit the ball?

 

The instructions in the manual are less than obvious....

This may or maybe not the one you have .

From memory as it is dark and ****ing it down here.

I assume you have the Key to start with(my dealers staff had no effing idea where the key was). Key has a red dot and green dot. Starting from the hitch in hand insert key with red dot up or visible, push the pin in and push the lever down. That's it ready to insert into the socket.(Although it may be already in that position in the spare wheel liner in the boot.) 

When you push the hitch into the socket the lever will be vertical, the pin will pop out and it will click and the lever will return to horizontal, just watch the fingers as it might hurt if they get rapped. Turn the key so the green dot is visible and your done. The sales executives(sales staff)and the automotive service technicians(mechanics)at the dealership had no idea how to fit and instruct as "no one ever orders a factory towbar"!

Brilliant. Worked first time. No idea what I was doing wrong. I think I was expecting more movement in the lever.
