Which website for selling digital images/photos on?

Featured Replies

As per title, as I know there are a few very good Photographers on Briski!

I am looking to sell as "stock", can't be bothered with organising my own printing, dispatching, or web hosting. I am not a known name, but I feel that my pictures are at least the mid quality to upper quality of similar pics under certain word tags. I think word tag searching is the best for sale in my case.

I have been looking at Almay, Shutterstock & Flicker/Getty.

Views, opinions, actual experience, etc. welcome.

Doing Shutterstock & Dreamstime...all stuff being accepted so far!

Alamy ...idiots I had a go at them as although my pics were as big & technically as good as they ask for, they rejected them because the camera was not as high end as they require...which they did not specify anywhere in their guidelines etc...so be warned!

It seems that Shutterstock is the must have because most people use & have heard of..however Dreamstime is a big one, but they can offer more money for exclusive images & even more if you only supply to them. So will look at in a years times to see if I sell more on them then if worth just having my stuff on their page only..

Oh well just an update...

Managed to sort of 54 ish pictures on both Shutterstck & Dreamstime. Had a few rejections on Shutterstock for flipping stupid things...a couple of pictures I think they failed to realise that the sea creates a haze & & no that's not "noise"...& its 4 miles away at least..maybe 10 miles...& the other was keywords, to do with a castle, so a selected the same image & same keywords others had used for the same image in their helper...& still rejected for a second time

So stuff that & made those images "exclusive" on Dreamstime, which means I'll earn more.

Anyway most forums etc. state prepare to have 1000 images & not sell anything for a year....

A few weeks back I had 45 images & only 6 weeks on Shutterstock & sold 5 downloads..each a different image......must be doing something right!!
