USB flash drive recommendation

Featured Replies

This might be particular to my car (MkIII Superb) but might be of interest to anyone looking for a very compact USB flash drive. Do a search for SanDisk Cruzer Fit 64 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive.

I have a central storage compartment with a neat, automatic sliding door. But, if you use the USB slot, most flash drives are too long and interfere with the sliding door. The above product is a good brand, stores loads of music and doesn't run hot. It's been in the slot permanently for a few weeks now and works well. It's tiny.

I got it on Amazon for £18.

(Apologies if this has been posted twice. I think the site upgrade started when I was halfway through posting last time.)

It sounds to be a worthwhile ...

Thanks for this mate.  This'll take my entire digital library.

Just out of interest, how much sorting do you have to do?  I take it that it'll just work like your PC without using iTunes etc. in that you'll have to create all your own folders and sub folders.  Presumably, also, it'll list it as the file name rather than using any sort of 'recognition' hook up like iTunes would?

Furthermore, can you search for a track/file by typing in letters in any way?

Should be picking my Superb up this week so it'd be nice to prep my music up beforehand.

A word of warning about these ultra short USB sticks: they fit snuggly and are quite difficult to remove, because you can't really get a grip on them. I came within a few seconds of resorting to a pair of pliers to get the darn thing out! Other than sore finger tips, works as you would wish.

Put a rope tied up to extract the usb stick...
