Grill Wrap - Wiltshire

Featured Replies

Can anyone suggest a company in Wiltshire that would be able to wrap the chrome surround on the front grill of my VRS?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Not up for diy? It's not too difficult and wrap is cheap.

Unsure if I'd get the finish as good as I want it. Any suggestions?

Going for yellow or black? :)

Haha :tongueout:

Still tidying that thing eh,  should have bought a good one to start with.

I love the character of mine,  even the dents are immaculate.  See rust just gives more surface area to polish..

Try plastidip matt black to start for the grill.  Hard wearing. I painted mine but next time it will be plastidip.

Failing that if you go to any decent sign writer they will wrap grill.

Just fancy the grill black but obviously I want to be able to reverse it if need be hence why I though wrap.

Does plastidip chip?

Nah, durable.  And it just peels off.

Thats good to know.

How do i remove the chrome grill? and would the skoda badge need to come off?

Undo the torx bolts that run along top to remove grill and i think there are 2 down each side on a bracket to.

Then with it off you can pop off the chrome part.

I wouldnt prise the chrome off tho, just mask up. The badge is held on by two lugs and pulls off, put it in bin and buy the new black one. Would look sweet. :)

Decent thank you!

Ive actually just removed the black newer style badges and added new 'original' green ones. I wasn't a fan.

Mine were just stuck with a self-adhesive backing. The pins were only used to locate it correctly.

Aye Aye thats what I meant lol forgot to add about double sided tape.

Off to go boost my Yeti, been mapped today into a fire breathing snorting monster. Easily hits 60 mph now

Man it feels slow compared to the fabia lol

Seriously nick, leave everything on the car, go fetch a can of matt dip from halfords. Mask up around grill using a knife or better still the back of a stanley blade to push the tape right into corners.  Was grill first by the way.

Once its masked up put 3 coats on at 10-15 min intervals.  Then the important bit, remove tape immediately after last coat. Unlike paint it will form a bridge and stick to the tape so peel whilst its wet.

Option 2

Spray over whole lot fins and all. Then when dry cut around chrome grill and peel excess off in one sheet. Thats how they do cars. Cut around window etc

So easy pal. Dont worry if it is on fabias paint. It just peels off.

Now back in my Vrs and time for real boost!!

It's grille guys. A grill is something you cook food on :tongueout:
