Monty Carlo trim

Featured Replies

Do all Monty Carlo estates have the ' 70's deck chair ' look interior ? maybe it's just me but it just doesn't work in my eyes, if indeed they do all have this trim, is the Monty Carlo a special edition or what will I lose by dropping down a specification level ( if that's what is need to get a more sober interior trim ? )

How about a seat surgeons leather retrim?

Bit costly, but the work and finish is top notch

Hi, not overly keen on leather tbh, reason I favour estate cars is because I transport fishing tackle around it may well be clean before I go but can't say the same when I return !!

May I deduce that by your reply that a retrim will be required as the Monty Carlo all have the ' deck chair ' look interior ?

Is the Monty Carlo the top spec model if so what has it as standard that the next trim level down hasn't ?

Monte Carlo has the sports look, with the body kit

Mines a colour Edition (Rallye Green with black roof/mirrors/alloys but no body kit)

which is fairly well specced but you could opt for an SEL with all the trimmings.

If you did want the Monte Carlo, maybe someone would do a seat swap with you?

I agree.  The Monte Carlo is the sporty model and the trim is not for me either.  Too 'gordy' as they say in this part of the world.  Go for the SEL trim.  Not much in the 2 price wise but the SEL is far more sober and a decent spec.  The next trim down is the SE.  Have a look at the brochure (you can get it on line) for the spec detail.

I suspect the sports seat out the black edition will be available soon

Currently the black edition is a Czech model only

The seats are available to order on se equivalent trim in Czech market and in Germany

No word yet on black edition for rest of main land Europe

And no word on all black sports seats for UK as yet

I'll dig a picture out if the black seats they do look very nice

A member posted in this section about a UK dealer with Mk3 Fabia Monte Carlo with optional leather interiors,

but when i checked what they had listed for sale could not see any. They must have been specially commissioned ones.

reading the blurb is funny it says things high level finish etc then shows the back seats with manual rear windows

nice carbon wheel though and the seats are beutiful

and the right hand drive evo tested way back when had them as well

The Monte Carlo is the 'sporty' looking one, but that's where it ends. Get yourself an SE L with a Panoramic roof and you have the black roff. Specify black wheels and you're looking pretty much like a Monte. In terms of performance they are the same. The Monte really should be a tweaked version, but it ain't...it's just cosmetics, which is a shame.

The sports seats are a £175 option on the configurator for the SEL... If they're the same seats as used in the Rapid, then I'm not a massive fan. My mum has a Rapid SE Sport, and I prefer the seats in my Fabia SE. Of course, you might think otherwise!

Trust me at 6 foot and 17 st me and ' sport seat ' don't really gel, I much prefer the seats in the Octavia over either of the Fabias I've owned ( too be honest I'd want at least a days test ' hire ' in a mk111 Fabia before committing to ownership, the Monty appeals visually but as yet is untested.....

thanks for all comments thus far

I'm 6'2, nearly 16 stone, play rugby and lift lots of weights. I find the sports seats are too tight around my upper back, as I'm pretty broad. The standard seats are fine for me.

The SEL is the way to go i think! You get more spec wise for less money, performance the same. Monte is just for looks nothing else.

+1 for this. I made the same choice when ordering mine - wasn't too fussed about the extra styling on the Monte, and preferred the seats on the SEL.
