New Fabia Worry

Featured Replies

Have I got a leaking problem with my 2017 fabia? Every time i open the boot or drive round a corner at a certain speed i can hear water sloshing from the back of the car. didn't have this with my older fabia and wouldn't of thought it was the back washer resioir as its so loud. Any ideas? (Only had car about a month)  Have looked in the actual boot and there are no wet patches or anything.

Welcome.

No rear washer reservoir so unlikely to be that.

Rear Fuel tank though, so is it maybe fuel sloshing you hear?

maybe water where the spare wheel goes? Was a known issue on mk2 design?I put this one up there with water sloshing in whenever a downpour & you open the windows to clear steam, happened in all 4 Skodas we have had!

not fuel sloshing, when i open the boot lid it sloshes back to the top of the lid then leaks dribbles a bit out on to the car.  you can clearly hear this, definitely water.  there is a little dribble where the spare wheel is but not a lot.

If this happened after rain, probably the bonding of the glass on the tailgate window hasn't been done right and is leaking.

Otherwise it could be a leak in the washer pipe.

(Fuel slosh on the Fabia is only noticeable when the tank is nearly full and the fuel laps against the top of the tank.)

Best get the Dealerships Tech on to checking out then under warranty, leak or rainwater / H20, or pipe / connection issue & Washer Fluid.

Gonna have to call in and get them to look at it I think, can't fathom it out. Never had it with my mark 2 I had. This is a brand new car only had about 4-5 weeks. Pretty bad if it's a seal gone already!

Does the rear window washer work?   If it doesn't, likely that the pipe has come away from the outlet and is filling the tailgate with washer fluid every time you operate the system.   If the rear window washer is working normally then you are probably left with a good old-fashioned leak.   Whatever - dealer.

The rear washer does work. The Mrs thinks it's the rear washer that is leaking into the boot, she also noticed that water has gone into my boot brake light ( the one on top of the lid ) although brake light still working.  so annoyed. :angry:

Woulden't you be able to smell it, if was that?

Sounds like a seal somewhere, incorrectly fitted at the factory. The dealer should fix it on warranty.

Gonna take it up there tomorrow. They just need to find out exactly what it is, replace anything that's not correct and somehow empty all the water out of the lid.
