Hi,

octavia vrs 59 reg

car started squeeling when turning wheel (particularly left). Not related to breaking.  Internet suggests power steering fluid required but others suggesting of Octavia vrs does not have a fluid reservoir.

looking for some clarification and advice

All the Mk2 octavia's have electric power steering. There are two types of EPS and the are electric-hydraulic and and electic-mechanical.

 

The MK2 Octavia uses the electric-mechanical setup so does not have any fluid reservoir, 

Many thanks for the clarification. Would some form of failure in this cause intermittent whining when the steering turned left?
