Rev/speed limiters and restrictors

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anyone inform me if my 2011 Octavia vrs diesel has a speed limiter please. I know there is a rev limiter when the car is In neutral but when driving I can seem to get much more than 120mph which I think is a little strange as its reported top speed is 140mph, or do I need a longer road and a hill! Thanks for any info.

Hello. You got Diesel, from 200 km/t and up There Will tale loooong time to reach 240 km/t

otherwise remap your car with chip and There Will be better ^^

Yes the speed limiter is that boat anchor / tractor engine and not a long enough down hill with a tail wind.

Thank you for the advice, realised on my way home from work that actually I was doing 130 ( did not notice that after 80mph there is only for markers between the numbers!! silly me. Anyway just to ask because I will be getting a remap at some point (economy 205bhp because I don't want to go changing anything else under the hood) but why a chip and not a hard remap and what are the advantages?
