Interior Light

Featured Replies

Hi

The switch to have the interior light on, off, or on when the door opens came loose and I have just taken the whole unit off to repair.

It appears the spring has come off the button and the copper catch has now also come off when I removed the button.

Can any just let me know if there is just the copper thing and the spring that goes back on and nothing else has come away. Also which way up does the copper thing go, the legs seem to have a slight bend, do they go up or down and lastly any tips on how best to get the spring back on.

Cheers for any tips.

Thanks very much, that should help me put it back together, just need to battle to get the spring back on.

Just pushes over the plastic tabs. Should be pretty easy.

I will get it done tomorrow but the picture is a great help.

No probs :) If the spring has come off check that the plastic isn't broken. Can't really see how it could pop off otherwise.

Sorted, thanks for the picture, all back together, just need a new fuse now as it is not coming on but checking the fuse it has blown.

Spoke too soon, just had a little disaster.

I got a new fuse, refitted the unit and just as I was screwing it all back together, I heard a small noise but carried on.

I then noticed the slider switch was now loose and yep, it seems the spring has come off inside the heading and is nowhere I can find it, bugger.

So I will have to look to see if I can find a small similar spring that will fit, but a replacement lamp unit or do without an internal lamp other than the map lights, time to have a think.

I think there is something gone wrong wrong as well, so I have bitten the bullet and bought a replacement from eBay, seems much easier in the long run.
