Bilstein B12 Prokit

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I recently received my Bilstein  B12 Prokit suspension for my mk2 Octavia estate. I was about to get it installed but when I felt the hardness of the shocks I then became hesitant about putting them in, they feel so hard! Has anyone got any experience with this set-up and how did you find the ride comfort? I'm now not sure whether to get the suspension installed as I don't want a rock hard ride. Your experience with this set up will be very valuable to me. Thanks guys

I don't have the set up but it is on the shopping list when funds permit.  I wouldn't worry too much about being over firm. The ride will be firm but controlled all feedback given on here has been that it is not bone rattliing.  It does depend a bit on your expectations, I wouldn't expect it will be 10yo arm chair soft but instead firm but also compliant handling dips and rough stuff without shaking your teeth out.

Do some searches for B12 kit, Bilstein Suspension etc, there are many people who have posted experiences on the kit. I can't recall one in the last 12 months that was negative once installed.

You may get some posters replying back with the set up. Lots of previous threads though.

Not used the B12 kit on an Octavia but have on other cars. It's firm but very well damped so not harsh. You'll notice their is little sag when you get in the car and there is little unwanted movement, which gives the impression of it being very firm but they react and absorb a lot more to the road surface which gives you a better ride quality.  I found my Octavia VRS lacking in the suspension, especially the rear, and was considering an upgrade to B12's but I got rid of the car due to other build quality issues.
