Satnav on SD card?

Featured Replies

Does any Skoda use a SD card for its satnav/GPS?

MIB units in newer cars do.

the top-end diagnostics mentioned on here, would they be able to code in a SD card to a vehicle satnav?

I'm not sure what you mean? The units that support SD cards for map data are from the latest generation cars - they can't be fitted to a Superb 2 without a lot of work. This thread will give you an indication of the work involved:

@chimaera - SD cards are also used on previous generation satnav units too, namely the RNS310 and RNS315 (Amundsen and Amundsen+). Current map versions for both are only on SD card and the former needs the SD inserted at all times to use mapping. Early map updates for the RNS310 were on CD but it's no longer the case for newer map versions.

@lichfielddriver - what are you actually trying to do or find out more about? Can you include specifics like the vehicle and headunit involved?

ill fess up

its an Audi A6, Audi want £300 for the card and to code it to the car

still, worth a punt

Rainsworth Skoda said much the same

oh well...................

You might get better responses if you update the title to include that it's for an A6 and if it's move to a section that isn't Superb specific.

If the car is new enough, it might support Audi Connect which allows you to download maps. Otherwise, I think it might be a new SD/dealer only option...
