Moisture around speaker?....

Featured Replies

Well I gave taken the plunge and changed my head unit (octavia vRS) and the front speakers....

WHAT A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!! Although it does expose the rear speakers as being awful (any ideas on a reasonable price upgrade?)

However when the fella was changing the front speakers he pointed out that there was a slight damp patch where the speaker joined the fitting in the door (I'm guessing the wrong side of the plastic membrane)

Any ideas? or should I expect my door to fall off soon?

a little bit of damp will be ok as long as the area is dried out.

I assume he put some plastic or similar above the speaker to stop water comming down and onto the joint between the speaker and trim.

The innder part of the door isnt sealed. This is why if the membrane is split water can leak into the car.
