Fitting a dashcam to rear window

Featured Replies

How easy is it to get the trim below the hatch (5th door) off. I don't want to run a wire through the car to the front fuse panel. I believe there must be a switched feed somewhere in there?

Haven't got the car yet but want to be prepared.

Presently I run a long cable through the interior of my estate via the tailgate seal and passenger side floor level trim and in places the cable shows. Is running a rear to front wire any easier in the hatch?

I notice quite a few wires in the spare wheel well would any of these be ignition switched?

Another thought could I tap from rear light DRL or would this upset CANBUS or would the wiring be too light?

If i were you i would wait and see if the camera interferes with the DAB , Mines crap. Ive had 3 different cameras and they all wipe out the DAB radio due to poor screening . You may be ok though if you have the estate but the hatch is a bit of a nightmare. I gave up in the end , Why they stick the aerial in the rear window god only knows.
