continuous beep normally indicates a fault, get the codes read- you will probabaly have an open circuit on one or more of the sensors.

It's a two fold problem caused by poor design. The sensor don't fit flush with the bumper so water collects on them which can give a false signal. Secondly the electrical connectors behind the bumper allow water and condensation in which creates a short and again a false signal.

If you remove each sensor from behind the bumper, clean out the electrical connectors with WD40 or contact cleaner. If you have any signs of corrosion clean it off with a fibre glass pencil. Fill the female part of the connector with electrical silicon grease and connect it back up. There is a little colour coded cap that goes over the end of the sensor. Lift it off and make sure it is clean and dry before refitting. Then secure with a wind of tape to keep the water out and refit the sensor. Finally use a treatment that allows the water to run off them. I used RainX but it doesn't last as long as some other treatments.

This worked on mine as I used to get false readings on front and rear sensors but not always the same ones. As soon as the weather turned you'd start to get the problems and they were just annoying rather than useful, were as in the summer they virtually faultless. If you have the front sensors too you can reach through to two middle ones from under the bonnet but it's tight. The two under the headlights need the lights removing or taking the bumper off.

If you don't want to do this remove the carpet lining on the left of the boot and you will see the module for the reversing sensors and just disconnect it.
