DPF clean. Is removal a DIY job?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

couple of qestions, any advice would be much appreciated!!

DPF mystery/misery not solved on my 2007 tdi vrs 170 PD....so

1. Has anyone had any experience having their DPF cleaned using a "flash machine"?

Or are there any cleaning methods/specialists that come recommended?

2. To clean it using this method it requires the DPF to be removed, is this a DIY job? Or if left for a garage to do how long/what sort of price would be reasonable?

cheers

The tuning place took our DPF off and sent to http://www.dpfdeepclean.co.uk for diagnosis and clean.

It's been ok since (Dec 16). They need to drop the subframe to get it out so maybe not something to do in your driveway.

We had to get the EGR cleaned and the turbo refurbished too and get a new clutch and flywheel. This all happened after a REVO map.

Runs well now though.
