Performance modifications that don't affect warrantee

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a used FL VRS TSI DSG that came with a Skoda 2 year warrantee.  I'm interested to know if there are any performance improvements that I can do that don't invalidate the warrantee.

Suggestions anyone?

What do the T&Cs of the warentee document say? It would normally specify what is and is not allowed.

Page 5.

Air Freshener, Wiper Blades but some Dealers employees will say you must use VW Washer Fluid.

Tyres, Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, and bits and pieces.

If you want to use Modded Exhausts, Suspension, Discs / Calipers, Software / Engine Management and you break the car / Blow the Engine Gearbox then pay the repairs yourself.

Or be aware of the Warranty T&C's and be prepared to argue there is a Manufacturing Fault / Material issue that your modifying had no affect on.

PS

TSI owners should read the Pinned thread at the top of the page and consider if Voiding a warranty is a good idea,

or if it is worth it's weight in gold, seeing as the VW Group know all known issues and yet underwrite Warranties.

i am not being funny but also you dont want to invalidate your insurance with performance mods they dont know about !

Tyres are about the only thing you can change or refresh the suspension and bushes with new standard stuff if worn .

^^^ Where did the OP mention modding and not declaring with their insurer if they did?

The question was about Warranty and modifying.
