MK2 FL vrs 2011 rear wheel inner wear

Only had my 2011 FL vrs for 2 months and after a puncture in the rear tyre the garage notices excessive inner tyre wear and suggested 4 wheel alignment be done.  The tyres have done about 2000miles and had loads of tread on outside but nearly 1mm on inside worst was passenger side but drivers side looks just as bad. I've posted a pic of the results from the alignment what do you folks think? Did anything need adjusting and did they adjust it? I know nowt about suspension setup lol.  Cheers

Looking at that I would say the rear toe on the drivers side still isn't right as it's in the red but I'm sure someone who understands alignment will be along soon to give a definitive answer.

Yes the bolt was seized on that side i think. It was the bolt in the centre of the car and he didn't want to snap it.

inner edge rear tyre wear also classic sign of excessive rear camber. Yours is still quite aggressive even if now within specs. I'd be getting them more upright, unless you like buying a lot of tyres and driving at 10/10ths all the time.

What would you recommend for the camber settings please.

They adjusted it but as The Client said, it needs less -Ve camber (old springs, soft dampers, etc).  -0.75 would be nice to aim for. 

 

They need to fix the toe up too as it's still toeing out on the RHS.  Not only will this cause inside edge wear, it will cause a slight LH drift.  Start a daily squirt of PB Blaster for a week or two to penetrate into the seized eccentric or you might have to sacrifice

 

Up the front, camber is fine.

Caster is fine.

toe is fine as long as the steering wheel is straight.

Pb blaster? Is that wd40?

Up front wheel is straight at the mo so fingers crossed on that one.

On the rear camber is that 0degree 75mins or in mm?

Do you know if it goes to Skoda they will set it like this?

PB Blaster is WD40 on steroids.  There are other alternatives.

 

I have no idea what dealerships are like in the UK but down here they don't even do wheel alignments - they subcontract.

 

It's negative 0.75 degrees or -3/4degrees, which I guess is -45minutes  (isn't there only 60 minutes in 1 degree?).

Camber & Caster are always measured in degrees.  Toe can be measured in degrees (not my preference) or in mm or inches (the difference in distance between the front of the rim and the rear of the rim).  It's not as accurate as using degrees but it's what I'm used to and when the (old) machines lost calibration easily, it was an easy way to double check you had it right.

 

If it was me you were dealing with, I'd do it for free so that you'd probably come back again but I always worked on getting repeat customers and word of mouth advertising.  The problem you've got is that he has set it within specifications, so he hasn't made a mistake as such.  Maybe take him a decent coffee (hard to find in the UK) and a friendly chat about your concerns will grease the cogs of industry :-) .
