cigar lighter socket etc

Featured Replies

i put this in the wrong place

i am getting a bit dim recenltly...75 looms on the horizon and i wonder if i am loosing some more brain cells

as you can see kenny has given me some info...the square socket i dont think i need to bother about

and as i looked closer at the round one it did seem to appear like a cigar lighter socket...so when i get the tyre inflator back from my son in law i can see if it works...

charging a phone...there seems to be the requirement for an adaptor....???

cheers

'Tis indeed, a cigar/electrical output socket... I have a plug in adapter with two USB ports plugged in to mine and I also plug in the supplied tyre inflator when needed.

The square socket will allow an auxiliary item, such as an MP3, to be plugged in and played through your car stereo.  You need a mini jack plug lead to plug into the MP3's earphone socket and plug into this socket on the car. Press the C.D. button twice and it will come on as AUX and will then play the MP3 via the cars audio system. The sound can be increased on the stereo and also by the MP3 but most functions will only be changed by the MP3 itself as it is just using basic a headphone type function to play. The little square, by the way, appears to be missing its little flapping cover. It has a hinged panel that closes when not in use, to look a bit nicer and possibly to help prevent dirt ingress. I believe they can be obtained, for a few quid, from your main dealer.:handshake:

thanks again...you give a good tour of the skoda fabia which i am grateful for..

i am getting my old cigar lighter socket tyre inflator back from my son in law to make sure the socket is working

then i will buy a better one with a gauge on it to do top ups on my tyres....

the old one was one of these 2.99 things they used to do in garages when you filled up etc...a bit plasicky and noisy

since i wont use that mp3 socket...we listen to cd's mostly and radio of course...i will make a neat gorilla tape in black cover for the square socket...and thanks for pointing that out...i wouldnt have known otherwise..

looking into renewing my bonnet and boot badges...they seem to have had a few bangs and scratches via the previous owner

the cheaper ones on ebay seem to be chinese origin but i see some marked skoda part made in ...spain, italy, and skoda land.. Czech Republic/Slovakia

may go over to the chrome modern model...maybe..:wondering:..maybe not

cheers
