Radiator Outlet Sensor (G83) Location for error 18617

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2005 Octavia 1.9  pd and I am trying to sort through am list of error messages on the can bus

One of them is error 18617- Engine Coolant Temp Sensor on Radiator Outlet (G83): Signal too high:P2185

I know there is a water temp sensor near the top of the engine on the right but I don't think it's that one that is giving this message.

Can someone point me in the right direction as I cannot find this outlet sensor

Thanks

I don't know where this is, but usually the radiator outlet is the bottom big hose.

Yes, I can find the outlet but not the sensor and wondered if it's buried somewhere I cannot see.

Have a look on youtube for "Vw Golf/Bora replacing coolant temperature sensor". Is that any help?

Think I have found it hidden below the air intake. Looks similar sensor to the one by the thermostat.

Anyone replaced the bottom one? Was wondering if I can whip it out and push the new one in without having to drain down.
