just inside from the drivers wing miirror - anybody know what this does please? looks like a small warning type light.

 

In simple terms, It flashes to show the car alarm is activated.

 

Bit more complicated, answer. It flashes depending on how you lock the car. If you press the key fob twice when locking (within 2 seconds of the first press) it disables Safelock. Which means the car can be opened from the inside. In this case the little light flashes 2 seconds fast, goes out and starts to flash regularly at longer intervals after about 30 seconds. If you only press the fob once to lock, the warning light flashes for around 2 seconds in quick succession and Safelock is enabled, afterwards it begins to flash evenly at longer intervals.

 

I always lock mine with one key fob press when nobody will be left in the car. If someone is still in the car and movement sensors are disabled (small button next to driver seat) then press twice to lock, then they can get out.
