Impatient me!

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Was due to collect my Fabia 1.2 TSi 110 on Saturday. Sadly the EML light came on and the techs suspect a faulty actuator valve so it's getting a new turbo fitted before I collect. I'm hoping this is not a sign of things to come?! It's  '15 reg vehicle, but I've heard no major issues on these engines.

In t he mean time I have one of the dealer cars that the staff run around in/demo. Not a fan of the DSG, seem to need to book an appointment to pull away. Still, I'm having great fun in changing all the radio stations!!

Will post pics up when mine in ready.

PS Motorpoint SKODA in Dartford, nice job in keeping me on the road! Appreciate it!

Oh bother, a turbo issue with the earlier 1.2TSI in the MK2 Fabia section and now a turbo issue with the later 1.2TSI engine in the MK3 Fabia section, gulp!

I thought Motorpoint were just an "all marques" outfit that handled huge volumes of low mileage cars, ie a secondhand car supermarket, maybe I'm wrong there?

Sorry, but they are going to be desperate you do not pull out of the purchase.

Many would, so be sure you have a 12 month warranty on the car, and 24 month warranty on that New Turbo. Parts Warranty on an Original Replacement part.

Franchised dealer very much Skoda. Lots of green everywhere.

12 months warranty is there. I will ask about the warranty on the turbo.

The Original part Warranty is 24 months.  So be sure you are getting that.

Have you a copy from Skoda of the Service History, Warranty History, & and Service Campaign history?

If they are a Skoda Franchised Dealership then they can just print it off the system.

PS

You can not hear reports on the longevity of 3 year old vehicles or engines introduced until ones get to 3 years or older.

Reports of issues are starting to appear, and then obviously the engines are now discontinued,

so buyer beware.

Well, the EA211 1.2 TSI was launched in late 2012 with the Golf 7. So the oldest cars are now around 5 years old.

Just later until put in Fabia then UK Maindealer Servicing and Variable Servicing, Long Life oil that can be short life turbos.

Time will tell how they go, and why such a short production run for these 1.2 TSI engines.

As with various other TSI's from Euro 5 on & especially the Euro 6 emission ones.
