Hi guys having issue with my 2.0 tdi vrs it's not starting 1st turn of the key brand new battery (large) fitted last Friday had the glow plugs checked and they glow really well fitted new cts sensor fitted, my Symtoms are car cranks but does not pick up so they try cranking  again and it fires into life right away only happens if when car is left for like 5 hours and it is not weather dependent happens when it's warm or cold out side, 

 

Anything you can think of to try next

What if the fuel  is draining back into tank and needs the extra cranks to get back up to pressure ?

Not a bad shout so I tried turning the ignition on and off several times witch should be feeding fuel to the engine no change though, :( 

Could crank or cam sensor cause this issue ? Can these be checked with vcds ?

You can try vcds and see if you get any codes. Worth a go....
