  1. Thats handy to know , Its still under the dealer warranty , another 5 months or so , I'll give them a call. Thanks
  2. There was a message came up on the radio about a software update , last month , got it done over the air . I wonder if that was it?. If it was it didn't help.
  3. Opened the Karoq 22 plate SE drive TSI the other night , then opened the bonnet to top up w/washers bottle and while doing so it locked itself. Bonnet open and key fob in pocket, should it do that ?. Once when drawing up to the fuel pumps it locked itself after I got out and could have been stuck there but for a key hidden underneath . It quite regularly refuses to acknowledge the key , even when pressing it as requested against the wallet? and only sees the key when I lock and unlock it a couple of times while sitting inside it . Any thoughts or ideas
  4. Its a 22 reg petrol . I had to get brutal with them , 25mm hex heads on plastic studs , which had stripped the thread on the plastic bit and were giving the impression they were meant to be unclipped or something in a certain way. Hammer and screwdriver way was the only way I found . Two large zip ties are now there holding up the rear of the tray. just like yours but an extra 80/100 mm longer after the large torx screws at the rear drawing attached
  5. How does the sump guard come off? There are 8 screws on the sides and 1 in the middle front, 3 large torx screws and 2 large plastic plugs at the rear . Its the plugs at the rear that I cant get off without cutting them off . Any clues any one ?
  6. No issue here, only turns the engine off when stationary and brake hold has activated. Same here , no problem and in fact I quite like it.
  7. Thanks for that , I was possibly expecting too much but its easier without the bonnet stay to latch/unlatch and now it doesn't get in the way when doing things under the bonnet.
  8. Been following this thread and thought I need them. But after waiting a fortnight them 10mins fitting, adjusting the bonnet forward to allow the brackets to fit , I find I still have to lift the bonnet, or is that just wishful thinking that they would actually lift the bonnet on there own with no lifting from me ?
  9. Is it not the Front Assist Distance Warning, you're too close to the car in front? .On my 2019 1.6d karoq its like a two car shape nose to nose . Back off a little and it disappears , this is adjustable on the menu
  10. With hindsight we had trouble at the first call to the RAC , maybe they hadn't registered that we had broken-down because after 2 /3 hours we phoned again to see what was happening, things started to happen then ie a phone call to say someone was on their way and shouldn't be too long. Still took 2 hours after that before anyone turned up and its the injector he says £600 please. Ebay has them about £250/300 same make .
  11. After sitting in a A1 layby last year for 4+ hours and paying £600 for a new injector in my old Octavia I.6 the RAC got the boot. Wish I'd known about Britannia.
  12. I thought there were some models had a noise maker , unfortunately its not on mine . I would have turned it off. I think I'll need to look at the air feed pipes , Moving or a split somewhere. Need to chase up the stealer again. Another niggle is the headlight switch keeps turning the headlights to ON position, must be knocking it with my knee when getting in and out. Its just left on Auto normally.
  13. Hi All , Have had my 2019 1.6 TDi SE KAROQ for 6 months now , Quite pleased with it , coming from a Octavia it is different but the same . A question/niggle I have is the throaty roar when on low throttle , At first I thought there is no air filter in it or even no ail filter body but its all there. I believe some models have a noise maker? to give it a sporty feel. Is there any way to quieten it down?. Even my old berlingo is quieter . Is this normal? The fuel flap is just hanging on, stuck shut with no fuel in a busy filling station is no joke. The dealer seems to think that its not a common problem. He seems to be dragging his feet a little.
  14. Hunted high and low for the paint code on my Karoq se 2019, there is no sticker in the boot under the floor, It is not in the owners hand book which I think is a replacement as there is no details about anything , so anywhere else it could be ?
  15. Hi I've a 2011 1.6 approx 90,000 miles and the front suspension has started to rattle. It started a while ago but I was more concerned about the front wheel bearing which was shot. Changed the bearing on both sides even though it was the drivers side that was worn. Replaced front pads and discs as the discs were worn Noise is coming from the footwell area , behind the dash, mostly passenger side occasionally heard from the drivers side. Seems to get louder the longer it runs. (?) The rattle I thought would be the anti- roll bar link . Changed those and rattle still there. Took off the underbody plastic covers thinking maybe something in there but no. Filled parts of the heat shield with expanding foam and round about fuel pipes. No change. No wear on the front struts but had a slight misting round the seals so changed them both and renewed the top mounting bearings Getting desperate now so removed the inner wings in case something had fell down and was rattling against the body but nothing there. Unbolted the anti-roll bar links to see if it was the anti-roll bar bushes but still the rattle was there. The rattle is there whether the engine is on or off, whether or not in gear or just freewheeling /coasting downhill. It just needs a slightly rough/worn surface road to set it off and on the main roads unless a I hit a pothole its quiet as a mouse. The subframe bolts seem tight enough. No movement in the steering rack track rods. The next thing will be the lower track control arms . Anyone know of anything else that I haven't changed could be causing the rattle ? Any suggestions/ experiences with rattley front suspension would be most appreciated
