Hi all , 

I have a Mk11 Octy 2009 , all a sudden when going along with a red warning light the same as the handbrake on ,sign comes on following by a ding ding ding, it then goes out and no more .

It is not the handbrake  or seatbelt buzzer. Does anyone know what it it is??  Tia

Could be the brake pad wear warning.

Could also be the handbrake switch adjustment. It could be just touching and very very close to contact. I used to get that in a mk4 golf, if I pushed down on the lever it wouldn't happen

D-OH! of course if it was then it would activate on brake application.

Try driving slowly and take up the slack in the handbrake and see if it is the same as the unknown noise. Mine bongs if the h/brake is not off properly. (like lofty79 s idea )
