Radio reboot just after setting off (occasionally).

Featured Replies

I just booked my car in for it's first service and I've asked that they put on record a minor niggle that has developed over the last couple of months. I just wondered if anybody else has experienced the same thing. I tend to leave the radio switched on all the time and just once in a while, after I have travelled a few hundred yards it switches itself off. After a few seconds it will come back on again and re-initialise itself and it then works normally. It's not DAB or SatNav, a standard Bolero unit I think.

Haven't had that problem but very occasionally when I turn the radio on the sound is normal but display remains blank. Usually mends itself if ignition is turned off then radio reboots and everything back to normal when car is restarted. Seems to be worse in very cold weather - like today!

Probably wait till first service in March unless it gets more frequent.

Its a bit like a computer starting up. Both 2010 and 2014 Yetis with standard radios sometimes wouldn't display the screen or do anything on ignition on. (My radio is always on as well) Turn engine off, remove key and start again and it always worked second attempt. Never completely failed, so I think it is a software bug.

That’s my impression with my car; the centre scree acts like a laptop (almost is) and occasionally reboots while driving.

That's exactly what I said to the lady who took my service booking. I said it wasn't currently a problem but just in case it 'developed' I wanted to place it on record. It's so intermittent that it takes me by surprise each time. I just wondered if it was common or not - in readiness for the "Noooo.... we've never heard of that happening before."  :)

Yes, but mine is the Amundsen with Sat Nav, Digital radio etc!

Had a similar issue with our 2014 with the Amundsen+ unit. A software update solved it.
