Which engine advice

Hello all......

My fabia estate sdi done about 218,000 miles....engine going very well......seems to be costing me quite abit now every now and again on general repairs so I'm thinking up getting another skoda.....could be a octavia maybe a roomster.....would be an estate octavia.

Im used to the reliable cheap running sdi engine and I don't have much money to payout for big repairs so I'm wanting to invest my little bit of money on a engine that isn't going to cost me in repairs...hopefully. I have about £3000ish which I know isn't a lot of money.  Family of two adults and two little ones and two dogs......so practical and cheap to keep running is the key.

The fabia is a little small for us and I really need a bit more space. Anyway any advice on engine types would be appreciated....diesel or petrol manual or auto.
