Octavia VRS fan not working

Featured Replies

Neither of the raditor fans are coming on on my 2007 Skoda Octavia VRS. Is this a common fault? Tried chaining the 10amp fuse but did not help.

Should the fans come on when air con is switched on to test they are working?

Thinking of changing over the fan assembly is there anything else I should check first?

Is the engine reaching the temperature to cause the fans to switch on?

If they are not kicking in when they should I would check the thermostat is not sticking open and the temperature switch that sends the signal to switch the fan on.

If left running stationary for a very long time it starts to overheat. When driving it's fine though.

Where is the tempature switch located? Is that fairly straightforward to change? Is there an easy way to test the fans?

Not sure where the switch is. There may be a way to test it too.

I think you can apply power straight to the fans but not sure of the procedure for this.

Hopefully someone can advise.
