Hello from Warwickshire

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

New to the forum, and fairly new to Skoda too!

I currently drive a 2014 Octavia VRS in Magic Black. I'm the second owner, and its done 23000 miles. I LOVE IT!! (Had a Race Blue one before that, but I had a few problems with so it went back to the dealer - Long story!)

I've been used to hot hatches in the past - spent the last 5 years in a 2008 Honda Civic Type R (FN2), and before that was a Ford Focus ST170 for a couple of years.

So far, I'm really impressed with my VRS! It's an awesome machine, and goes really well! Already planning a few upgrades, as its just out of warranty now, so might be asking for some advice soon!

Would be good to meet some of you in the future, so will be keeping an eye on the 'events' sections etc. I live in Warwickshire, not far from Stratford Upon Avon.

Anyway, enough chat, I've got some upgrades to plan!

Ciao

Haha, it's Jamie :D. But Ciao will do :).

Had a load of electrical issues with the first VRS I bought - turns out the previous owner had tampered with the wiring behind the dash and had badly wired in some sort of box to the steering column - upon removing the glovebox, I was met with a mess or wires and zip ties!! God knows why they did this. Had faults with the DRLs, cruise control, and lane guidance. It went back to the dealer I bought it from who had it for nearly 5 weeks trying to fix it but couldn't. Skoda UK were even sending their Technical team out. Eventually I had enough and rejected the car. Replaced it with the one I've got now, and couldn't be happier with it

AH i see :blush::biggrin:

Welcome Jamie!  The VRS is a logical replacement for one of the hot hatches and I bet its more comfortable than the Civic!!

Thanks! Yeah I thought so too. The Mrs and I had a baby and the Civic wasn't big enough. I wish I'd bought an estate though, and the TSI rather than TDI. Otherwise, its awesome! :)
