Cheap cheap cheap dashcam

Featured Replies

Hi

Im looking for a cheap dashcam up to £30 that i could put in the workhorse van. The van has 11 months of MOT left and once mot finishes the van will be scrapped hence the reason for a cheap dashcam. I dont really care about it having gps and all of the tech that my nextbase dashcam features, all i require of it is to have loop recording.

Anyone got any recommendations?

If you want cheap I've just replaced my two in the car and the works vehicle. They're cheap and cheerful and I don't want them any more. As you're a Freedom member you can have one for postage, and I'll throw in a suitable sd card too. They were working when I removed them a couple of weeks ago so I should think they're okay.

Only downside is occasionally you need to reformat the sd card occasionally to keep them working.

Thanks for your generous offer altough I dont have the effort/skill to keep reformating them occasionally and because the van is used by people at work i need something that I could rely on in case of an accident. Could you please provide the link to where you bought your old one that i could do some research about?

It's actually advisable to format the memory cards in dashcams on a regular basis as the cards can become corrupted.

I had issues where files were missing, or the image was poor. I now format both cards at the beginning of the month and haven't noticed any of the previous issues.

Well, I bought them a couple of years ago so things have moved on considerably since then. I bought them (and the new ones) on the strength of reviews from Techmoan, and these are the new ones I got. Link.

These are the old ones.

Check out his other reviews for some ideas maybe. See here.

Been looking at some ebay specials and comparing specs

Tempted to go for a nextbase but that would be stolen as old transits are surprisingly easy to break in to
