Is it possible to fit a set of coilovers of a mk5 golf tdi to a mk1 fabia vrs ?

I read somewhere that the top holes on front inner wings have to be drilled out ?

Anythings possible but the work involved just wouldn't justify it when you can get a kit that will fit out the box.
