They did, depending on what country you’re in/bought from. 

In the UK they are grey/diamond cut or silver. Some countries got black Gemini’s from factory though. I am doing mine black (unless a nicer set of of alloys comes up cheap).

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I have managed to acquire 2 that have never been on the road and the guy I got them off said they were factory finish not refurbed, I think you could get them in the UK as an option only.

dont think you got them in the UK according to most, the Irish challenge pack came in black.

You can buy them direct frim

They weren’t an option but you could buy them and have them fitted at PDI

ive found a place that does really good quality 19" extremes, for £540 for 4, i had to look at them up close and the finish is perfect and the wheel itself feels the same weight etc, impossible to tell the diff, except for the stamps on the inner spokes. im getting one for a spare asap.

When you do, can you let us know what it's like? I am seriously considering a change of wheels and I am thinking either VW Pretoria, Skoda Xtreme or Bentley Continental. Not sure which yet, but would deffo want them in black. The place that does the replica xtremes, do they do them just in black? If so, I'd be very tempted. Also, do they do Pretoria reps of the same quality/price?

yes they are the black version i didnt see any anthracite, i could ask. Ill ask about the pretoria, they have a huge warehouse and come with a good reputation.

Some replica VAG alloys available from these guys.  Appear to have a good rep but I'm always dubious of non-OEM wheels, probably just paranoia though:

I’ve seen those on eBay. I too am a little dubious, also paranoia setting in. Would rather not splash out £650 on replica alloys when I can get a genuine set of Bentley alloys for £675...

Lots of the owners on the Golf R forum & Facebook page are having issues with the 19" prets buckling & cracking so id be careful buying/fitting them,they look nice but seem to be soft as ****,some have bought replica prets as the cost of genuine ones are mental but its to early to tell if the replicas are any stronger (they are heavier apparently).

replica pretoria 19s are £540 a set as well. same place. options are gunmetal or silver, just called in and he sold the last set yesterday but can get them in after easter easily.

Thanks, that’s great to know  May have to drop them a message on fb to sort something out. I am torn between the Bentley set and the Prets. The Bentley set are silver which is off putting as I’d like them dark but they are a sound set of wheels with no damage and they have a really nice set of 275/40/19 tyres I could sell on to offset the cost of a colour change and 4 new 235/35/19 tyres. They are £675. I would guess my cost to change would be circa £1k all in. Option 2 is these Pretoria reps, would be alright in grey but I really want them black as I don’t really like the grey Gemini’s. I think those Bentley wheels are a bargain tbh but I’m not ready to pull the trigger on them yet, benefit of new wheels is that I can always get them. That set of Bentley rims may be gone when I am ready. Decisions decisions...
