Just got a new Rapid, replacing an older Fabia. Just noticed my key is 90 degree rotate with respect to the key handle.

The Fabia key blade was folding on the side of the key. The Rapid key blade slides into the side of the key.

So after starting the Fabia pressing the keyrelease of the fob would fold the key handle down, and also the keys and their picture were facing toward the drives (back or forward), or in the vertical plane.

Due to the changed 90 degree orientation of the new key fob of my rapid is is facing up, so it is folding in the horizontal plane.

 

Is is possible to rotate the ignition key barrel in the steering column 90 degrees, so the key fob is in the horizontal plane after started the engine?

The key....that's how they are.

My Mazda key differs to the SEAT or Skoda key in it's orientation, I got used to inserting it in the ignition pretty quickly if that's your problem.

It seems an odd request to turn the ignition barrel, I'm guessing not or very costly but anythings possible.
