Cabin noise

Featured Replies

Only had the car for a five days and only driven it twice but one negative thing I've noticed is its a bit boomy in the cabin around 60-70mph.

Maybe it was the new tyres, road surface, hard to tell, anyone else think the cabin is a tad noisy?

It's something I'm going to monitor before I run it by the dealer.

Other than that the car is really impressive.

Have you tried driving on other roads to see if its the road surface you're driving on??

Not had the roads or conditions to have mine above 60 yet, but impressed by how quiet it is !

I have only done about 500 miles so far but also feel the cabin can be quite noisy (compared with my old Golf Mk7 anyway). My Karoq came fitted with Potenza S001 tyres which seem to be aimed at performance rather than comfort. I am pleased to see they are rated to 186mph though!!?

Generally very pleased with motor and it handles well although sharp potholes are a bit clunky.

I currently own a Golf 7 GT on 17" wheels and am considering a Karoq on the basis that will be more of a quieter drive on the motorway.

I see the Edition version uses 18" wheel as standard so I wonder if this is making the road noise more noticeable?

The Edition has 19" wheels as standard with 235/40 tyres. SE L has 18" with 215/50 profile. As I understand, wider tyres = more noise but it also depends on the tread pattern, road surface and other factors.
