Hi and welcome.

Does this mean they have not type approved the octy vRS for a Towbar in the same way they haven't the fabia vrs? Know a mk2 octy can have a bar fitted. If I were you I would speak to your dealer as they might fit one? If you search on here there are a few threads on the Fabia situation and the legality etc of fitting a towbar. Bit long winded but it might help you.

thanks postmanpat

i have spoken to my dealer and they said they cannot fit a towabr because of the new complex wiring on the new octavia . i am told it is the same as the audi a6 , i work for audi and asked one off our techies and he said they are easy.

who to belive before parting with

You can get a tow bar from Witter with a box of tricks to sort out the can-bus wireing.

Welcome by the way.

pm me if you need help.

The spec for the new Octavia vRS states that the max trailer load with brakes - 12% is 1400kg and max trailer load with brakes - 8% is 1600kg. That indicates that it has gained type approval for towing.
