Thinking of upgrading the Octavia to something more refined and not wanting to be fleeced by the usual German marques so was thinking about a 280 PS Superb Sportline? 

 

Am I going to be disappointed? Seems like some cracking deals around from Simpsons with around £10k off a 280 Estate.

You will enjoy the extra space.  More refined, more Kit as standard I believe.  If you can find a 280 go for it.  Not got one myself, but I have been looking on the Autotrader website and there aren't many about used (as not many sold compared to other models).  Only you can decide if its worth going for though - test drive vs your car etc.

Thanks for the welcome. Trying to a find a 280 to demo isn't easy where I am but no rush. Happy to wait. Will be interesting to see if I notice much difference between 220 and 280ps. 

Welcome along!  Lots of opinions and advice on the Superb III forum on the 280 and the 220 v 280.  Either way, you'll get a great car.  The smart money of course would be on something slightly used given the inevitable depreciation but as you're finding, 280s are not easy to find.  Hope you find the right one!

Yeah I called Simpsons today about their great deal but it was only on stock cars and that awesome sounding dragon green estate had sold already. Decisions decisions. 

 

I could just remap the VRS and get it wrapped and it will be like a new car!!
