Buying an Arona, Small Yeti replacement

Featured Replies

My 2 year PCH deal comes to an end in a few months, and although the Yeti is a great car we don’t really need it’s size.   We only have one teenage daughter and now only have one dog (sadly other one died of cancer, year ago).   Some of the car parks where we live have fairly small spaces, so we didn’t want to go any bigger, and ideally a bit smaller.  We have another car (a roomster that is nearly 6 years old), so can always use that when we need to move something big.

Skoda have gone bit bigger with Karoq, and although there is talk of a smaller SUV it sounds like won’t be available until late 2019 at earliest.  So Skoda ruled themselves out of the replacement.

Test drove an Arona (and no pushy sales people at Seat store in Westfield West London) and loved it, just the right size, obviously controls are very similar to the Skoda.  We had gone over Easter when there was a Seat promo roadshow (didn’t know until we got there) so actually could sit in about 5 different Aronas.

Seat are experimenting with standard specs (there are no options except spare wheel, tow bar and accessories like mats).  Even the metallic paint is included in price.  In the end have opted for the top spec (called Xcelence Lux) 1.0 tsi DSG which seems to be equipped to similar level to a Karoq SE-L (not exactly same spec).    So in 2-3 months once the Arona is delivered, we will say farewell to the Yeti.   Won’t totally desert the forum as will still have the Roomster

Someone somewhere will get their hands on a (very good condition) Petrol blue Yeti (indoor) SE 1.2 DSG in few months time.

Best of luck with your new venture :hi:

I no longer have my Yeti now, left it with Azur Skoda this morning as I'm picking up my Karoq tomorrow morning.  Drive1

The Arona lack of options has gone from one extreme to another to that of Skoda where it’s impossible  sometimes to select one option without having to have and pay for a number of others.
