Rear Drivers Door Wont unlock

Recommended Posts

Hi All

2005 Skoda Superb Elegance 1.9TDi (130) - Owned for 10 Years.

Rear Drivers Side Door wont unlock with Key Fob or the unlock button inside the car. It will only unlock if you try and open it with the interior door handle. To lock the door again you have to do it manually.

I would assume some sort of module or actuator needs to be replaced. If someone could link me the correct part it would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Bill

It's very common, you'll be needing one of these (unless it's a broken wire in the bellows between the car and the door) ...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-RIGHT-CENTRAL-DOOR-LOCK-MECHANISM-ACTUATOR-FOR-VW-GOLF-MK4-PASSAT-B5-BORA/142772567215?fits=Model%3APassat&epid=19018598018&hash=item213de87caf:g:aIwAAOSwZBha4Yh4  there are loads on ebay.

Just about all you will ever need to know is here...http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/b5-2004-2005-vw-passat-tdi-forum-faq-diy-bhw-engine/

To remove the peg that holds the window to the regulator, screw  an M5 bolt into the centre hole and pull out the inner piece of nylon, then press the outer piece out.

When refitting, put the outer, then inner nylon peg into the glass first, assemble everything and it will slide in and lock on to the regulator when you either press the window down, or wind it up.

Reseal the regulator panel to the door when you've bolted it back in place or you'll seen get a very wet carpet.

I think that's all.... Here is a pic of the dowel pin from this thread....http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/window-regulator-removal-and-repair-for-mk4-volkswagens/

  • 4 weeks later...

I also have a rear drivers side door on a 2005 Skoda Superb Mk1 that won't open; so I ordered this part from the link.

It's not the right one. Neither the locking mechanism or the electrical connections fit at all.

Finally got round to doing this, took about 4 hours due to forgetting to attach the clip to the new locking module that attaches to the door handle. So effectively did it twice.

Thanks for all your help.

Going to do the Front Passenger door tomorrow.

The front door glass is fixed by two bolts which can be seen through two plastic plugs.  You need to lower the window to the correct point in order to access the fixing bolts through the plugs.  Then use tape to hold the glass at the top of it's movement and prevent it dropping.

Much of the dismantling job is explained in great pictorial detail here...https://nackuk.blogspot.com/2011/09/repair-skoda-superb-window.html

Thanks for the advice.

All Done, Few issues such as broken connectors and a blown fuse so took much longer than it should have.

Just need to replace the the Intercooler turbo hose now (massive tear) and hope i can put all the engine internals back correctly.

Was having issues with the drivers electric seat not moving, looked at replacement parts.
