decided to test a new polish, carpro fixer

Featured Replies

I took advantage of the good weather and thought id get the DA out and try a new polish id bought. carpro fixer,

Id notice quite bad swirl in bright light and thought id give this stuff a go and i wasn't disappointed.

prepped the paint by snow foaming with polar frost, clayed with a clay mitt then polished with Carpro fixer, its a 1500 grit compound that breaks down at 600-1200 rpm on the DA by just polishing it out. It does leave a dust but this is the indicator that's its working.

I only had time to do the bonnet (i took about 60 mins on it) and used the roof as a comparison. I would say the compound removed 90% of the swirl. If i had more time i could have had it like glass.

i used Gtechnic panel wipe then C2V3 to seal after polishing and then two coats of dodo juice supernatural wax to finish off.

you can clearly see the paint swirl in bright light

the bonnet after Carpro fixer > GTechnic PW > GTechnic C2V3 > dodo Juice supernatural wax x 2

very few visible swirls

again all you can see is reflection and no swirls

In summary i'm impressed as i found it hard to find a polish that wasn't too harsh on the paint and easy to apply and could remove the swirl. I will do the whole car with the Fixer eventually as its at least a day to do it right, Carpro  good value and application is easy, just a few drops on a pad and polish it out with the DA until a light dust appears from the breakdown.
